What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Within the framework of the General Data Protection Regulations – GDPR – defined by the European Parliament 2016/679 regulation of 27th April 2016, we would like to inform you about the processing of your personal data, about the nature of these and about your rights. The legal basis for data processing is the Belgian data protection law of 30 July 2018, entered into force on 5 September 2018, relating to the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data. This law repeals the old law of 8 December 1992 and its royal implementing decrees.

Data collection

In the general case we only collect the data that you communicate to us for the purpose of inquiring about our products and services and/or entering into a commercial relationship. When you are submitting inquiries by using the web form or by sending us a e-mail the information collected only concerns your contact details (e.g. surname, first name, e-mail, mobile phone number). When you order our products on-line via our eCommerce web shop, additional information is collected during the user registration process and/or at the time of the transaction for the good proceedings of the transactions (user profile information): typical information include preferred payment information, including sometimes credit card data, your invoicing and/or preferred delivery address. These pieces of information may also be collected via other channels such as telephony exchanges, by email, by fax, and possibly by other digital channels such as Instagram, Facebook, or any other messaging applications.

Data processing

Your information is recorded in computerized files maintained by Beldragon SA-NV for the proper management of its commercial operations. These computerized files take the form of a database within our Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) or in our Web Shop system or in our Cloud-based storage system.

Data protection

Your data is protected according the highest industry standards. It starts at the acquisition stage with the establishment of a SSL connection for any commercially-related exchanges of information. The data you submit is stored in our secured ERP system, relying on world-class security systems embedded in our cloud-based operation partners. Cookies

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Who we share your data with

Your data is kept within the company unless it is needed to share some of the data purely for the good proceeding and fulfilment of commercial transactions – e.g. sharing your address with a third-party delivery partner such as La Poste / De Post; storing your data on third-party cloud-based hosting systems. The data collected will never be communicated outside the scope of the company for marketing purposes. If the need arises, Beldragon SA-NV will contact you to obtain your express consent. 

How long we retain your data

In general, your data is kept as long as our commercial relationship lasts and/or as long as it is useful for the proper handling of the commercial operations of the company (e.g. understanding the market evolution, the customer needs and expectations, etc…).

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

For users that register on our web shop, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
